An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team at Oxford Harlequins RFC as Commercial Sales Executive.
The role will be based in Oxford, although working from home is permissible at this present time, where the successful candidate will be a key component of Oxford Harlequins RFC’s continued commercial development.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and improving relationships with existing sponsors. As well as maintaining existing relationships, the Commercial Sales Executive will be tasked with creating new packages to sell to businesses and becoming a well-known face within the Oxford business community.
Main Purpose of the role:
To increase revenue generated by Oxford Harlequins RFC through commercial sales, hospitality, and events sales.
Main duties & responsibilities:
Identify new sales leads and prospects leading to new revenue streams for the club.
Sell & manage packages which include hospitality, match sponsorship, advertising etc.
Arrange meetings with potential clients and account manage existing clients.
Lead development of the Business in Union networking club.
Develop and maintain the “Quins Alumni” programme to maximise the involvement of past players and supporters.
Maximise revenue from internal fundraising schemes e.g.100 Club.
Maximise income from the sale of merchandise.
Attend events on behalf of Quins RFC as well as look after clients on matchday.
Take responsibility for the matchday programme.
Sell events outside of the matchday remit for Quins.
Update and maintain the commercial hospitality database.
Manage and update social media channels.
Produce an effective and valued email Club Newsletter.
Skills and Experience required:
Previous experience of working in a commercial/client facing environment.
Previous sales experience (preferably in sport).
Account management experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work within a team whilst also being a self-starter.
Competent with word, outlook, excel etc.
Managing customer relationships.
Excellent attention to detail and an ability to multitask.
Self-motived with a desire to succeed in a sales environment.
