Posted @withregram • @oxfordquinsacademy *** Oxford Quins Academy 2020/21 Head Coach - Keni Fisilau *** We're delighted to confirm that former Tonga International, Keni Fisilau, has committed to a second season as Oxford Quins Under-18 Academy Head Coach. In his first season as Academy Head Coach, Keni oversaw an increase in Under 18 numbers until the squad numbered over 50 players as a new generation of Quins were inspired to pull their boots on. Oxford Quins Academy reached the last 32 of the National U18 Club last season, on our first entry into the competition in many years, progressing further than any club in the region, and flew high in OBB1, placing in the top 4 when the season was cut short. "Keni brings an unparalleled level of experience and technical knowledge to our Under 18 Academy. They get the opportunity to learn from a man who has played international rugby, accrued over 200 Championship caps and in his youth, played against greats like Jonah Lomu. His impact is seen in the huge increase at training on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the 3G, in the enthusiasm, belief and professionalism in the squad, in the marked upscaling of skills that we see in the players and in the successful transition of players from the Under 18s through to adult rugby. Keni has a great coaching team around him and we're looking forward to seeing the progression of the squad over the 2020/21 season.
